My name is Julie Alcin, born October 25 1994 in a beautiful tropical island, St. Maarten. I started writing poetry when I was about 12 years old. At first it was just a way for me to blow off steam and verbally bleed, no it’s that and more. Poetry is life, it’s my way of letting go, becoming powerful and letting the world hear my voice. I use it to educate, inspire and empower people. 

When I started, my comfort zone was simply on paper. When I was introduced to Spoken Word, I felt like the world just opened up a new door to me and pushed me to get over my stage fright. I recently started writing short stories last year, 2014 and drawing this January, and it has been world of amazing exploration.
